Texas Constitution, Article 7, Section 1
Under this founding document, Texas is committed to fully funding universal, high quality public education. Instead, and year after year, Texas continually cuts public education funding. This undermines our shared commitment to our children. It also unfairly eliminates avenues for adult learners to succeed.
While our adult learners are our taxpayers, our children are our future. The Harris County Department of Education ensures that all of them can meet their full potential.
For that reason, this position cannot be merely a stepping stone to higher office or a compensation prize for a lost election. It requires someone dedicated to serving on the Board for a full six-year term.
My platform is based on four simple pillars:
My highest priority will remain advancing the best interests of our students, giving all kids the tools and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
We must open pathways for adults to develop the skills they need to meet the evolving challenges of our growing county.
I’ll ensure that high quality staff and services remain available across Harris County at rates that our cash-strapped school districts can afford.
By working hard to minimize waste and maximize value, I will deliver the most cost-effective quality services to support our kids and our schools in Harris County.
